    Ladakh is a high-altitude Union Territory of India, known as the “Land of High Passes” for its spectacular Himalayan landscapes, snow-clad mountains, crystal-clear lakes and ancient Buddhist monasteries. It is one of India’s most popular adventure tourism destinations, attracting visitors for trekking, mountaineering, river rafting, and wildlife tourism.     • Leh Palace: A 17th-century royal palace built by King Sengge Namgyal, often compared to the Potala Palace of Tibet.
    • Shanti Stupa: A white-domed Buddhist monument overlooking Leh town, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
    • Hall of Fame: A museum maintained by Army.

    • Nubra Valley: Known for its cold desert landscape, sand dunes, and double-humped Bactrian camels. It offers unique Himalayan scenery and cultural experiences. Located at 120 to 160 Kms from Leh city and Diskit is an administrative town in it.
    • Khardung La Pass: One of the world’s highest motorable mountain passes in way to Nubra Valley, offering spectacular panoramic views.
    • Thiksey Monastery: One of the largest and most beautiful monasteries in Ladakh, famous for its 15-meter-high statue of Maitreya Buddha and stunning architecture. Located at 19 Kms from Leh on way to Manali on a hilltop in Thiksey village of Indus valley.
    • Hemis Monastery: The largest monastery in Ladakh, renowned for the annual Hemis Festival featuring colorful masked dances and Buddhist rituals. Located at 40 Kms from Leh on way to Manali on bank of Indus River.
    • Shey Palace and Monastery: Former royal residence of Ladakh’s kings, housing a giant copper-gilded Buddha statue and important historical relics. Located at 15 Kms from Leh on way to Manali in Shey village.
    • Magnetic Hill: A famous natural phenomenon where vehicles appear to move uphill against gravity, attracting tourists from around the world. Located at 30 kms from Leh in Leh-Kargil highway.

    Kargil district is known for its strategic location, rich cultural heritage, beautiful valleys and historical significance. Kargil city is 2nd largest city of Ladakh and Dras is a hill station in this district , offering a blend of Buddhist and Islamic cultural traditions, serves as an center for  tourism and pilgrimage both.

    • Kargil War Memorial (Dras): A nationally important memorial dedicated to Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Kargil War. It is one of the most visited sites in the district.
    • Dras Valley: Known as one of the coldest inhabited places in the world, offering spectacular mountain views and historical significance. Located on highway from Srinagar to Kargil, Dras is a small town in this valley.
    • Mulbekh Monastery: Famous for its ancient 9-meter-high rock-carved Maitreya Buddha statue and Buddhist heritage. Located on Karhil-Leh highway in Mulbekh village.
    • Suru Valley: One of the most beautiful valleys in Ladakh, known for lush greenery, glaciers and views of the Nun-Kun mountain peaks. Located at 40 kms from Kargil city and Sankoo is main town in valley.
    • Rangdum Monastery: A picturesque monastery situated in a remote valley, serving as a major Buddhist pilgrimage center near Julidok village at 130 kms from Kargil.
    • Nun-Kun Peaks:  The highest mountain massif in Ladakh, attracting mountaineers and adventure enthusiasts from across the world. Located in Suru valley and Tangol & Parkachik villages are its base camp.
    • Shargole Monastery: A historic monastery built into a cliff face, famous for its giant rock-carved Maitreya Buddha, in Shargole village at 35 kms from Kargil.
    • Phugtal Monastery: A spectacular cave monastery located in the Zanskar region, known for its unique architecture and spiritual significance. Located at 35 kms from Padum town.
